A pump that operates often needs a different investigation from one that never starts. The incoming water, controls, discharge path, and equipment all belong in the assessment.
Replacement involves more than matching the old pump
Before selecting equipment, ask how the proposed pump fits the pit, water volume, discharge arrangement, and power supply. A backup arrangement can be a separate planning topic.
